About the ISES Online Solar Energy Museum
To highlight the many individuals, research institutes, companies, NGOs and many more who made solar what it is today - a booming global industry - ISES has created an online museum to celebrate all these achievements. This online museum will allow research institutes, companies and individuals to tell their stories about how they helped develop an industry that has grown from watts to gigawatts.
Starting all the way back in the 1950s, the online museum presents important actors, research, inventions, historical events, displays of early products and solar records from every decade as well as the many individual solar and renewable energy pioneers that pathed the way for the industry to grow to what we know it to be today.

How to Navigate the Museum
The ISES Online Solar Energy Museum is divided into different floors for you to explore as well as the museum lobby which is home to timeline on solar and ISES histroy. Each floor covers one relevant technical area of solar energy with an additional floor on the history of ISES.
Within each floor take a tour through the decades - the museum is a virtual area for you to walk around in just as you would in a real museum. Take a walk through the rooms, step up to walls to read the different informational slides or to watch one of the videos. To switch floors, hop on to the lift and choose where to go next.
Please note, due to the size of the museum the program can take a few minutes to upload. ISES apologises for the delay and is working on ways to improve the upload time.
